Keith's Panamanian Travel Ramble

Hi Everyone,

When I tell people we are heading south during the winter, most people seem to assume something like Mexico.   Well, we are going to Panama just for that reason!  For us, Mexico has become too commercial and too touristic.  We seek something a little more authentic and less travelled and for that, Panama is a great choice for us.  It also has great weather that you don’t have to shovel.

Before 4 Jan, snow will be falling across your screen (no it’s not you eyes) as a little reminder of the Christmas Season and of what we hope to escape.  My weather forecasting skills are pretty good these days as I can pretty much guarantee the snow will disappear from your screen on 4 Jan 2012.

If you are reading this you have either received my invitation to join us on our Panamanian Adventure or you have clicked through from cyberspace to check us out.  In either case, welcome and I hope you will enjoy following our travels.  I have changed the format of the blog to allow me to better showcase the photography from our travels.  Please take a moment and find the Follow Blog via Email heading in the right column and sign up for email notifications when new posts are made.

Let me quickly explain a few things about navigating the new blog.  When you first arrive you will be on the Home page which plays a looping slide show.  I have loaded it with a few images from earlier Panama trips to keep you busy until the real posting starts, when we arrive in Panama on 7 Jan 2012.  The blog entries are all on the Blog page with the latest posting being at the top.  Each posting provides facilities for comments, ratings, like voting, and sharing the post with social media.  We urge you to use these tools to your best advantage.  Don’t forget to leave comments or questions and I will respond to them as I am able.  The next page,called Gallery simply provides a different access to the featured images from the posts.  Next to the right is the Map page which has some information about where we will be traveling in Panama.  The last page is the About page where I get to tell you a little something about me.
